How Deep is Your Love

Blog - How Deep Is Your Love

The 70’s group, The Bee Gees, sang the song “How Deep Is Your Love”. It was a number three hit in the United Kingdom and Australia. In the United States, it topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977 (becoming the first of six consecutive US number-one hits) and stayed in the Top 10 for a then-record 17 weeks!

If you listen to the lyrics which go:

I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I want to feel you in my arms again
And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love, then you softly leave
And it’s me you need to show

How deep is your love, how deep is your love
How deep is your love?
I really mean to learn
‘Cause we’re living in a world of fools
Breaking us down when they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
You’re the light in my deepest, darkest hour
You’re my savior when I fall
And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside that I really do
And it’s me you need to show

How deep is your love, how deep is your love
How deep…

I especially love the phrase: “I believe in you. You are the door to my very soul. You’re the light in my deepest darkest hour. You’re the savior when I fall.”

After listening to the song again on YouTube…I copied the link and texted it to Chad. When he came home, he had it cued up on his phone and played it while walking in our house. He took my hand, and danced with me. We held each other tightly even after the music stopped playing. I felt so safe and secured.
