Holiday Wishes for You and Yours Truly

December 22, 2015
Blog - Merry Christmas

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

No matter if you’re religious or not, the holiday season seems to be the time of the year when the whole world seems kinder, happier, more loving and joyful. Sending holiday wishes to yours truly takes an open heart and genuine words of affection.

Every time I watch a Christmas movie, I tear up. I appreciate what a wonderful life I have because I get to live my life every day knowing that my loved ones are in it.

My holiday wish for you is simple: May this time of year brings to mind those things in life that are most important. May it remind you to focus on all of the good fortunes that you are blessed to have!

Yours Truly,

 Zoe

Know What Matters Most To Your Husband

November 27, 2015
Blog- Travelling

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

Last week, Chad and I made a dual-purpose trip to California both business and pleasure.

I enjoy our plane rides. We get to relax either by watching a movie shown on air, read a book or we get our quality time just talking about anything in our minds.

I don’t know what came over me but, I asked Chad after being married for seven years, “What matters to him the most?” Did his list change from several years ago even before marriage?

It was comforting to hear that his list hasn’t changed for the most part. It’s simple but profound.  Here’s his list; but not in order of importance. 🙂

  • Intimacy
  • Romance
  • Faithfulness
  • Respect
  • Sense of Humor
  • Sense of family
  • Appearance

When “Chad Met Zoe”

November 13, 2015
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

On one of the nights last week, I had an “alone” time when Chad met some of this out-of-towner friends in downtown Chicago.

With a take-out Pizza and a glass of wine, I decided to watch an old movie, one of the classics, When Harry Met Sally. For those who have not seen this movie…go watch it!

It’s one of my favs. It triggered funny moments about how Chad and I would go through all of our “quirks” and laugh about them until our belly hurts.

What I love most about the movie, other than it’s one of the funniest romance comedy movies I’ve ever seen, is introduction a “high-maintenance” girlfriend. But, the crazy thing is between me and Chad, HE is the “high-maintenance” partner than me!

We named about 20 plus quirks that he has versus my 3! Go figure.

Vintage Weddings Are Back!

October 30, 2015
Vintage Weddings 1

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

I visited my mom over the weekend for an early Thanksgiving celebration because this year, we will spend the actual Thanksgiving Holiday with Chad’s family.

While my mom was prepping for last minute touches on décor before our guests arrive, I shuffled through some old photos of my grandparents, although the photos weren’t stored in any special ways – most of them survived through the test of time. I LOVE looking at them. And each time I do, I always thought how my mom and I look exactly alike when we were growing up.

The one picture that caught my eye was my great grandparents wedding picture. My mom is the lucky great grandchild who kept all old photos. Or perhaps, amongst all her siblings, she was the most sentimental one. 🙂

I admire the vintage style of weddings and everything about it! My grandma’s gown was spectacular- simple cut neckline, simple silhouette, simple soft fabric: just simply elegant!

“Greige” is the “in” color of this Year’s Wedding Motifs

October 9, 2015
Blog- Greige

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

In June, I wrote a blog titled, “Color of the Year – Marsala”, to tie it with our leather colors at YoursTrulyWeddingAlbums.com leather choices for your wedding albums covers.

Last month, Chad and I attended a seminar for business owners in the wedding industry. Not that I’m surprised to hear that “greige” is the “in” color of wedding themes; but, I was happy to hear (and see) the creativity of color palettes that the wedding industry has inspired for the brides and grooms.

So, “greige” is the new “grey” or the new “beige” – love it! We saw about three companies with employees wearing “greige” colored t-shirts. It’s pretty cool.

New Year’s Resolution 3rd Quarter Check

September 28, 2015
Blog- Cheers

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

Alright…it was that time again when Chad and I had our 3rd quarter check of our New Year’s Resolution.  It was fun, actually.  We had dinner at a neighborhood Italian restaurant and over glasses of champagne; we started our “3rd quarter” review. 🙂

First, he asked, “Are you prepared for the review?” And, I said, “I’m always prepared…you?” With a “not-so-sure” look on his face, he said, “I’m not.” (with a face looking for sympathy!).

Well…we had to do it anyway. So…we ordered our food then our review began. So here are the updates in bold (Please read my blog : Love, Life and Leisure: A New Year’s Resolution):

2015 Goals:

Chad and Zoe’s Relationship Development

  • Continue to build on our solid foundation and NEVER EVER take each other for granted! – Right on Target!
  • Continue our weekly “date nights” on either Thursdays or Fridays – Definitely on Target! We even committed to turn off our phones!!
  • Continue to celebrate our anniversary in Louisiana where we “officially” started dating  – YES WE DID…Yay! After I surprised him with the Venetian Boat Parade by the lake we decided to take a trip to Louisiana this pass week!
  • Spend more time with our friends Yup –hhhmmm… not as well as we did the first half of the year.  We need to be better at this!
  • Begin our plans to move into a new home to start a family – Yikes…no movement here! Still “on the fence” with the whole “baby thing” – we still need to get YoursTrulyWedding Albums really solid and off the ground.  Sorry…we have to wait a bit longer 🙂

Life Gives Love a Second Chance

September 21, 2015
Blog- Second Chance

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

Do you remember my girlfriend, who after 15 years, was divorced by her husband? Well…after many months of heartache from the separation, she finally went on her first date!

OMG! I couldn’t be so thrilled for her. Others may think it’s too soon. But, I never thought that for a moment! I believe that there’s no place for people to judge when is the right time for someone to move on with their lives after divorce.

An Anniversary Evening to Remember… Venetian Night

September 12, 2015
Blog- Venetian Night

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

So…from my blog post, “Wedding Anniversary Ideas” I was freaking out on what anniversary present to give or ideas I can come up with for our 7th Wedding Anniversary.  But, to top it all…after 7 years, we’re getting more and more questions from family and friends…” So, when will little Chad or little Zoe be running around?”

For those of you who have read my blogs – you must’ve gathered by now that I march to the beat of my own drums. Although the 7th anniversary is not considered one of the special ones, every anniversary with Chad is special to me.

But, really… copper or wool as traditional presents? Well, I came up with an idea to make these traditional anniversary symbols a bit more romantic!

I created an invitation on a copper colored stock card and envelope with my note that says:

“After seven years, our love has become much stronger than it ever was. I didn’t believe it is possible to fall in love with you over and over again.  But, the reality is, I fall in love with you even more each day. Seven years of marriage symbolizes “copper” and “wool”.  So, here’s my note written on a copper colored card and when you open your present, I’d like you to wear it at this place where you and I will spend an evening you’ll remember.”

Wedding Anniversary Ideas

September 5, 2015
Blog - Surprise Husband

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

From my previous blog, “Chad’s Birthday Dinner on a Boat” and “Romantic Wedding Vows”, I shared two things: (1) was stuck coming up with Chad’s birthday idea and (2) our wedding anniversary is coming up really soon!

Here I am again… with the same dilemma, I’m stuck with a wedding anniversary idea!

I have something “cooking” right now. BUT, it requires a lot of planning; so I’m hoping that I pull it off! It will also require me to tell a “white lie” to Chad. I guess white lies are OK as long as it’s for good reasons, right?! I’m excited with my idea! Just please keep your fingers crossed for me. Stay tuned.

Yours Truly,

Zoe

When Love is not that Strong Enough

August 30, 2015
Blog - When The Love Is Gone

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

In case you’re new to reading my blog, I posted an article entitled, “It Takes Two” in the beginning of the year where I mentioned the high statistic of divorce rate from 50% in the 70’s to 75% to date.

I’ve also shared a couple of my friends who had gotten divorce and are currently going through a divorce since the launch of Yours Truly. See articles, “Another Love Bites the Dust”, “Time to Heal” and “After 15 Years”.

On our (Chad and I) way back from a business trip last week, while in the plane and as I looked out the window, the thought of my girlfriend who is going through a very emotional and hard divorce came through my mind (Read my blog post “After 15 Years”).  I really tried to understand what could’ve gone wrong.  From an outsider’s point of view, the reasons given by my girlfriend’s soon-to-be just didn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense. But, outside knowing that he had committed adultery, I’m still at awe as to what caused him to do such dishonesty.

I talked to Chad about how disturbed I am as I feel so much heartache for my girlfriend. I said to myself, “Really…after four children that piece of s#*t just gave up on her and his kids?!?”
