Dear Yours Truly Readers,
Four years ago, Chad and I were neighbors with a wonderful and loving couple at our old apartment. They were a perfect fit. Leah and Noah were envied by many couples, young or old alike. They have their act together – great careers, good-hearted people, well-liked by many. Yesterday, I found out that they got divorce. I couldn’t imagine them separated. They were a great team. Yet now, they contributed to the statistic of 75% divorced population. I was very sad and quite frankly sick to my stomach. I’m still in shock and couldn’t believe it. I, of course, shared the devastating news to Chad. He felt the same and was incredibly surprised.
It makes me wonder why it is so easy for couples to give up on their marriage. We often hear the saying, “The grass is (or not) greener on the other side.” But, then again, if you’re in a marriage that doesn’t give you the happiness you believed would or could bring – why agonize? Others would say, “it’s part of marriage – you power through it.”
It is a good debate and we can go on and on.
At the end of the night, I found myself staring at the ceiling as couldn’t sleep, and so my mind wandered and thought … another love bites the dust.
