Chad and I saw the The Age of Adaline movie last weekend. WOW! What an interesting story line and a breathtaking story about a chance encounter of love and romance! We were just in awe while watching the entire movie. It was light-hearted but full of inspirational moments of aging gracefully (or not aging at all).
There was a quote in the movie that hit home to both of us:
Flemming: Don’t you miss having someone to love?
Adaline Bowman: It’s not the same when there’s no growing old together. Without that, love is just heartbreak.
Adaline discusses how her unique condition makes love and happiness impossible. She can’t have that growing old together part, which is perhaps the most important part.
When Chad and I got home…I asked him a simple question, “Will you grow old with me so that our love will not turn into heartbreak?” He just smiled and said, “Is that even a question?” I smiled back.
