Know What Matters Most To Your Husband

November 27, 2015
Blog- Travelling

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

Last week, Chad and I made a dual-purpose trip to California both business and pleasure.

I enjoy our plane rides. We get to relax either by watching a movie shown on air, read a book or we get our quality time just talking about anything in our minds.

I don’t know what came over me but, I asked Chad after being married for seven years, “What matters to him the most?” Did his list change from several years ago even before marriage?

It was comforting to hear that his list hasn’t changed for the most part. It’s simple but profound.  Here’s his list; but not in order of importance. 🙂

  • Intimacy
  • Romance
  • Faithfulness
  • Respect
  • Sense of Humor
  • Sense of family
  • Appearance

Three Simple Ideals to Preserve Your Marriage

November 24, 2015
Blog- Three Simple Ideals to Preserve Your Marriage

I’m no expert nor would I say I have enough experience in marriage only being wed for 7 years. Others would say, children makes a big difference in a relationship; and, I don’t have that either. But, what I know are ideals that I deeply believe, that no matter a couple have kids or not, or married for a short while or otherwise, will work.

  • I remember my dad saying, “Don’t make promises. But, not because you can’t keep them but because when you love someone, you don’t promise, you just do it.  Such as saying, “I promise to respect you or I promise to be faithful to you”. You don’t promise those things to your partner. It’s expected from you.
  • Don’t underestimate the power of “time with and for each other”. No matter how busy you get, whether just the two of you or as a family, don’t just try to commit to carve out time, but rather, commit to spend time with each other. Start a tradition of celebrating just the two of you.
  • Take care of each other. Everyone who surrounds you move on. Even your children move on when they get older and start their own families. But, no matter if people have come and gone, you have each other to lean on. So, take good care of your love and partnership.

Is Marriage Really Complicated?

November 20, 2015
Blog- Is Marriage Really Complicated

I had a great night with my girlfriend last night over food and wine.

She gave me an update on her married life of five years and her two year old toddler.

Life has been hard for her, or should I say marriage has been hard which makes everything around her complicated.

It’s the typical story of a couple so in love when they were “boyfriend/girlfriend” or even “each other’s fiancé”.  But, after five years and a toddler, marriage has not been the same.

Choose Your Layout: Simplistic versus Stylized

November 16, 2015
Blog- Wedding Album

Aside from encouraging our brides to send quality photos, we will also ask you to choose the layout that best fits your personality. We have two main choices: the sophisticated Simplistic layout or the more creative Stylized layout.

Layout Simplistic

Your wedding album is uniquely designed with your love story in mind. Our designers will create a magical story board of photos to showcase your big day with either white or black backgrounds.

The Simplistic layout is included in your chosen album package. This means we can accommodate up to 4 revisions at no extra charge. Albums average 5 photos per page spread.

Layout Stylized

The Stylized design will feature graphic elements such as colored borders, unique placements, and faded overlay backgrounds to accentuate the details of your wedding.

Brides just need to add $40 to get the more creative look of the Stylized layout. This fee includes up to 4 revisions at no extra charge. Albums average 5 photos per page spread.

When “Chad Met Zoe”

November 13, 2015

Dear Yours Truly Readers,

On one of the nights last week, I had an “alone” time when Chad met some of this out-of-towner friends in downtown Chicago.

With a take-out Pizza and a glass of wine, I decided to watch an old movie, one of the classics, When Harry Met Sally. For those who have not seen this movie…go watch it!

It’s one of my favs. It triggered funny moments about how Chad and I would go through all of our “quirks” and laugh about them until our belly hurts.

What I love most about the movie, other than it’s one of the funniest romance comedy movies I’ve ever seen, is introduction a “high-maintenance” girlfriend. But, the crazy thing is between me and Chad, HE is the “high-maintenance” partner than me!

We named about 20 plus quirks that he has versus my 3! Go figure.

World Kindness Day: Kindness Makes Dream Wedding

November 11, 2015
Blog - Jennifer

We often hear that what the world needs is LOVE. And definitely, more KINDNESS.

A month after receiving a diagnosis of a rare form of breast cancer, 29-year-old Jennifer Gargano was married in a wedding made possible by the generosity of strangers.

Gargano’s husband Brian proposed on Valentine’s Day, and the couple originally planned to wed in August 2013. But after a diagnosis of angiosarcoma of the breast one month later, they decided not to wait.

Brian enlisted Elysia Skye, a wedding officiant they found on the website Yelp, to perform the ceremony. Little did they know that Skye was herself a breast cancer survivor, who took to Facebook asking everyone she knew to help donate to the big day.

It Had to be You

November 6, 2015
Blog- Barbara

Call me old fashion…yes, I LOVE Barbara Streisand! Well…Chad thinks I should have been born in the 50’s since everything about the 50’s I JUST LOVE! (Although…Barbara Streisand wasn’t exactly popular in the 50’s!).

On my flight back from visiting my mom, I listened to Barbara Streisand’s newest album “Partners” on my iTunes. There have been many renditions of these types of song styles where well-known artists sing with other well-known artists such as Frank Sinatra’s and Tony Bennett’s Duet.

I’m sure you’ve heard Tony Bennett’s “It Had to be You” but sang by Streisand and Michael Buble?

It Had to Be You

It had to be you, it had to be you
I wandered around and finally found
Somebody who could make me be true
Could make me be blue or even be glad
Just to be sad, thinking of you

Some others I’ve seen, might never mean
Might never be cross or try to be boss
But they wouldn’t do for nobody else
Gave me a thrill with all your faults I love you still
It had to be you, wonderful you, it had to be you
