Who would not want to marry the love of their life on a day when everyone is in a festive mood?
We often see those whose significant other works in the armed forces, tying the knot on Independence Day weekend. We here at Yours Truly officially extend the wedding season up to the weekend of July 4th, not just for people who are in service but to everyone who have been gifted with the freedom to love and marry who they want.
Here are some of the Independence-day themed engagement shoots that should usher in the mood for a star-spangled love affair.
Dear Yours Truly Readers,
Father’s Day for me is not like it use to be nor how I used to celebrate it. As you know, I lost my dad many years ago. I miss him so much, particularly during the holidays and most especially on Father’s Day.
I called my mom that day. She was not home. As I guessed, she visited him at his memorial site and offered flowers…white flowers. Not long after, she called me back and told me what she did (as I already expected what her morning activities were).
Between me and my mom, we have an “inside joke” of greeting her “Happy Birthday” when it’s my or my brother’s birthday honoring the day that she gave birth to us. 🙂
We would like to thank everyone for taking time to vote for your favorite photos in the You-nique Wedding Photo Contest. We are having our blog’s best month yet! All thanks to you awesome people and we hope to still see you visit the blog even after the contest.
It’s now time to announce the winner!
After more than 400 votes cast on the blog (Link to voting page), congratulations to Jacklyn Shields and her fiance Patrick for receiving the most votes. Their photo received 51% of the total number of votes cast!
To Jacklyn and Patrick, we are excited for your wedding and we are looking forward to work with you on your wedding album!
Where Chad and I live, we are surrounded by great communities of diverse ethnic backgrounds. For the summer, we planned to visit various cultural places such as Chinatown, Greek Town, a Vietnamese neighborhood, etc.
We are very lucky that we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves into other cultures. By observing their environment and the individuals, the experience gives us great insights into their world.
This weekend, we decided to go to the Art Institute where it features art exhibits from Ireland. Just as with any culture, Ireland is full of rich histories, which Chad and I are excited to learn about. After visiting the art exhibit, we’ll be headed to an Irish Pub for lunch and a few steins of Irish beer! Continue Reading…

Dear Yours Truly Readers,
Non-stop laughter, giggling, bantering over a few glasses of Margaritas with chips, guac and salsa was the perfect night out with my four girlfriends – all married with children, except me.
We have a tradition of going around the table to give our updates about life, starting with Michelle who has the most children (and older children than my other girlfriend’s kids), then Lauren, followed by Cathy, and Christine is second to last. I normally give my “report” at the end – my update is short and sweet. No kids’ stories to tell- just me and Chad (and our business, YoursTrulyWeddingAlbums.com).
Who will be the next winner of a professional wedding album from Yours Truly?
We received so many emails for our YOU-nique Wedding Photo Contest that it was hard to choose the best one! After spending some time reviewing the photos, we are sharing our top 10 favorites.

“I am so excited about the opportunity to share our unique wedding with you. My fiance Ken proposed to me at the top of Mount Snow. We will be married on 3/12/16 and I will be snowboarding down the mountain in my dress along with my husband and our bridal party while our guests enjoy hot coco and s’mores. I hope that I have the opportunity to fill these pages with our wedding story.”
“If I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I’d like to do is to save everyday til eternity passes away just to spend them with you.” – Jim Croce’s song: Time in a Bottle
This hits home for me. If I only took my time to save memories when I was in my teens, it would’ve been wonderful to reminisce my younger years when I turned 35.
For this weekend, make a time capsule.
Find a box with a lid, and then walk around your house and collect items that represent the reality of your present life – here are examples:
- Newspaper or magazine
- Receipts from your recent purchases
- Take a picture of the Gas Station sign showing the cost of gas
- An empty can of Coca-cola
Place them in the box and secure it tightly. Write the date on the outside and say, “Open Me in 20 years (write the exact date after 20 years).
I just can’t image how our lives would have changed in 20 years. Well… why don’t you start this weekend so you can find out?
From the Bridal Guide to the David’s Bridal wedding color experts, the color for 2015 is “Marsala”, a Burgundy wine.
At Yours Truly Wedding Albums we offer 20 colors of genuine leather and the Marsala color is one of them. I suggest that you try our You-nique cover with 2 choices of colors. My favorite is the combination of Marsala (Burgundy) and Ivory.
You can “play around” with your choice of 2 colors through our ordering system. The image of the album will dynamically change.
If you want to check out our album examples, visit our website – www.yourstrulyweddingalbums.com.
Hope to see your orders soon!
In 2015, summer season begins on June 21st. To be a bit technical (I enjoyed astrology/astronomy in college!), the timing of the solstice summer depends on when the Sun reaches its farthest point north of the equator. I am so looking forward to June 21st as Summer is my favorite season of the year!
With summer comes many wedding ceremonies especially in the areas where there is the Winter solstice. We will definitely be busy at Yours Truly Wedding Albums as we produce wedding albums while our production staff admires the breathtaking images of the brides and grooms.
Summer also means “fun in the sun”!
Here are some super fun ideas that may inspire you:
- Cook outside…grill, grill, grill! Who wouldn’t like the smell of grilled anything?
- If your area has a lake or river – take a boat ride and enjoy the sunset.
- Relax, be lazy and lay out in the sun! But don’t forget your sunblock. 🙂
- Have a picnic – invest in a really cute, quality basket and blanket – it’s worth it. Bring a few pillows, too!
- Take photos of you and yours truly along the wildflower fields or the beach…don’t forget to make a photo album rathern than just storing them in your phones.
- Host an early dinner in the back yard for your friends – rent a tent, tables and chairs…it’s something different than eating in the house on the dining table!
